Job Bank:
Job Bank is designed to assist persons age 55 and old with locating employment in the Clark County area. The service also assists local businesses with finding the right employee for their open positions.

Older workers are noted for their dependability and maturity and are in high demand in many job markets. Job Bank helps older people find meaningful jobs and businesses find qualified employees.

Transportation:
Elderly United provides rides to Senior Nutrition sites, medical appointments, grocery stores and essential errands for persons age 60 and older who have no other means of transportation. Transportation to medical appointments outside the Clark County area is also provided.

Vehicles equipped with lifts are available for persons who are not ambulatory. Drivers are trained in assisting person with physical limitations.

You are asked to make your transportation request at least two weeks in advance to insure availability. Every effort will be made to accommodate emergency requests, but availability of a vehicle and driver cannot be guaranteed without sufficient notice.

You will be asked to donate toward the cost of the service, but you will not be denied service because of inability to pay.

Retired and Senior Volunteer Program:

R.S.V.P. volunteers are placed in the position of their choice and serve through not-for-profit private and public community organizations. Volunteers can become involved in many areas of service, such as:

  • Medical - hospitals, clinics, nursing homes.
  • Community - social service agencies throughout the county.
  • Nutrition - congregate sites, home delivery.
  • Educational - city and county schools, museums, libraries, and literacy centers.
  • Environmental, Homeland Security, Citizen Corps, Disaster Preparedness, and animal welfare projects.

After volunteers choose a position that suits their interest, they receive a brief orientation from the R.S.V.P. staff and additional support at their volunteer sties.

R.S.V.P. volunteers are covered by accident, liability and excess auto insurance while on assignment. R.S.V.P. may help with incidental expenses incurred while volunteering, such as transportation.
